Associate Attorney

We are seeking an intelligent, enthusiastic attorney with an interest in employment law.

This is a job where you will learn and grow, with strong mentorship and great opportunities.

Start date flexible (May to August 2021). Work is currently largely remote, but we will want you to be in the office in Pasadena once vaccinations are widely available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Propounding and responding to discovery;
  • Meet and confer letters and other correspondence;
  • Witness interviews;
  • Communicating with clients and potential clients;
  • Motions work (including oppositions to motions for summary judgment);
  • Legal research and writing;
  • Taking and defending depositions;
  • Court appearances;
  • Trial prep work; and
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Skills Needed:

  • Strong credentials;
  • Excellent writing skills with meticulous attention to detail;
  • Smart, analytical thinker who is efficient and can quickly get up to speed on a case;
  • Highly organized, very detail-oriented;
  • Professional and reliable;
  • Good people skills, friendly and upbeat;
  • Tech savvy, comfortable with Adobe Acrobat, Word/Wordperfect, Google Apps;
  • Takes direction well, takes initiative, and takes responsibility for work;
  • Understands ethical and confidentiality requirements to firm and its clients;
  • Takes pride in growing skills and knowledge;
  • Good, upbeat attitude and willing to take on whatever tasks the firm needs.


  • Law degree.
  • California bar admission or intention to take the July 2021 California Bar Exam.
  • Employment law experience or a commitment to employment law/civil rights.


Compensation depends on experience and includes personal time off, sick pay, continuing education and bar memberships, and generous benefits.
